Malachite Sunbird Bronze Sculpture

Cossypha Caffra

In breading season male malachite sunbirds develop an unbelievable metallic hue of greens and blues. Something that is exceedingly difficult to re-produce in bronze. They are so much fun to watch, and I had as much fun sculpting this bronze sunbird on a sugarbush protea flower.
