Bronze Triggerfish Sculpture

Balistidae

This deceptive tropical fish may appear timid and relaxed, but it is incredibly powerful and not a fish to mess with. The Triggerfish sculpture took me nearly two years to complete and was well worth the effort.

Lockdown at the Breede River

We were extremely lucky to spend the first three and a half months of lockdown 2020 in isolation in my favourite place in South Africa – Cape Infanta. Many thanks to my friend Neil (Beetle) for letting us stay in your house.

Red letter day – Grunter heaven

I’ve had a fair bit of luck when it comes to fly fishing, but the spotted grunter (Pomadasys commersonnii), a local saltwater species we target on fly in our estuaries, is another story!

Flying Fish Trio Sculpture in Bronze

Exocoetidae

As magical as their name, flying fish live in two worlds – sea and sky – and show up when least expected. I love sculpting combinations of this species, trying to capture that duality.

Tarpon Study in Bronze

Megalops

Stealthy and wary, tarpon offer anglers an irresistible challenge. They’re selective eaters and easily spooked, once hooked you have a wily adversary that doesn’t give up easily and will catch you off-guard with aerial jumps and bursts of powerful runs. The bronze study was created as a trophy for the annual Golden Fly Tarpon Tournament held in Islamorada, Florida.
