The sight of dorado chasing flying fish out at sea became embedded in my mind, and creating a sculpture of the scene was inevitable.

Lockdown at the Breede River

Bronze Dorado Sculpture

Also known as mahi-mahi or dolphinfish, the dorado is one of the most colourful of the pelagic ocean fish. When excited they display vivid hues of chartreuse, greens and blues.
