Master of the sea, the blue marlin is majestically beautiful and powerful, and has captured the human imagination for centuries. I used some artistic licence to accentuate its body movement in this bronze sculpture.

I’ve had a fair bit of luck when it comes to fly fishing, but the spotted grunter (Pomadasys commersonnii), a local saltwater species we target on fly in our estuaries, is another story!

The striped marlin is probably my favourite of all the marlin species. I’ve caught one on fly, and vividly remember its incredible speed and luminescent colours.
